Situated on the edge of the charming village of Mey in Caithness this pleasant B and B has a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere. Set with stunning views towards Dunnet Head and the island of Hoy, the B and B is ideally located for travellers on the North Coast 500 route, visitors intending to travel to the Orkney Islands and also visitors to the nearby Castle of Mey.

By car:

On arrival in Thurso from Inverness take the first road on the right indicated Castle of Mey (A836), Follow this road for 12 miles and the Hawthorns is on your right just after you pass the Mey village sign.

By Rail or Bus:

There are local train stations in Thurso and Wick.

A bus service operates from Thurso to John O’Groats.



We have five guest bedrooms, all easily accessible on ground floor level, each with en-suite shower facilities, wifi, fridge, tea and coffee making equipment and television. The rooms are spacious and well presented with seating areas provided.

We also offer a guest sitting room with stunning views across to Dunnet Head and a large open dining room.
